Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two Piedmont men in connection to more than a dozen vehicle break-ins. According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 18-year-old Tyrek Bellman and 21-year-old Sabin Nation have been charged with multiple counts of second-degree Theft of Property. Bellman has been additionally charged with a dozen counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a motor vehicle.
Shaver says the multiple break-ins occurred last week in the driveway of homes on Highway 411 and County Roads 82,148,14, and 19. Investigators were able to recover some of the stolen debit cards and a few firearms taken from the vehicles.
Bellman is being held on a more than $42,000 bond and Nation’s bond has been set at $2,500. The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind residents to lock their cars at night and remove any valuables from plain sight.
