An ice cream manufacturing company is recalling its select flavor of half-gallon ice cream due to possible plastic contamination. Blue Bell’s ‘Butter Crunch’ ice cream, made in Sylacauga, is being recalled because the Food and Drug Administration fears those half-gallon containers may contain pieces of plastic in them. The ice cream was sold in parts of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and several other states.
An investigation by Blue Bell Creameries was launched after a customer reportedly found a plastic tool in the ‘Butter Crunch’ ice cream. The company later determined the broken tool was accidentally mixed into the production process in a small amount of product.
Nearly 1,700 half-gallons are involved in the recall. If you have this ice cream in your freezer, return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
