GM and Workers Reach Possible Deal
Production lines could soon be up and running again at General Motors plants across the country. Negotiators for General Motors and the United Auto Workers have reached a tentative deal to end a 5 week strike by nearly 50,000 workers. In September, GM workers walked off the job, protesting their pay, benefits, and treatment of temporary employees.
The union today said it worked out a fair contract for all workers, but there is no word on when employees will return to work. The deal still needs approval by union and GM leaders before it can take effect.
