53rd Habitat House Dedicated in Etowah County

Today was an exciting day for an Etowah County family as they prepare to move into their new home thanks to the help and support from a non-profit organization looking to put an end to poverty housing within the community. The Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 53rd house to a single mother and her four children.

The four bed-two bathroom house is a spacious place for the family to finally call their home. Several volunteers who helped build the home also participated in today’s dedication ceremony. New homeowner, Ashley Lemon says she’s overwhelmed at the amount of support received from the community. Now that Habitat for Humanity has completed its 53rd house in the community, volunteers are looking for another family in need to help.

If you wish to apply for housing, please call 256-543-1898 and leave all your contact information. There is still time to apply as the housing application deadline is October 31st. For more information on this non-profit organization, visit GadsdenHabitat.com.
