Law enforcement agents with the Alabama Department of Corrections Investigation and Intelligence Division are investigating the fatal stabbing of an inmate from Guntersville at a facility in Clayton County. A correctional officer approached a crowd of inmates at the Ventress Correctional Facility where he discovered 52-year-old William Warren bleeding from his face.
Warren was rushed to a nearby hospital when he was pronounced dead from a reported stab wound to the eye. The inmate was serving a life sentence for a 1994 murder conviction out of Marshall County. The investigation into the incident surrounding Warren’s death is still under investigation.
