Body of Kamille McKinney Found

A Birmingham community along with other communities across the nation are mourning the death of a 3-year-old girl who had been missing for 10 days. Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney’s body is believed to have been found Tuesday evening inside a trash bin that had been taken to a landfill. Investigators have been looking through nearly 12 tons of trash collected in and around the Birmingham area for any evidence.

McKinney was last seen on October 12th outside a Birmingham housing project at a birthday party. Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Brown says it’s important that communities protect young children at all cost.

Chief Brown also says that the two persons of interest in the kidnapping case, 29-year-old Derick Irisha Brown and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Patrick Devone Stallworth, will both be charged with Kidnapping and Capital Murder for Kamille’s death. The day following the girl’s disappearance, Stallworth and Brown were taken into custody after the vehicle they were in matched the description given by other children.

Stallworth was also identified as the man in surveillance footage at a store around the time the kidnapping occurred. He was later charged with Child Pornography which was unrelated to the kidnapping. Brown was charged with a probation violation involving a prior kidnapping arrest. Stallworth and Brown are currently in police custody.
