The death toll from COVID-19 remains at 1 throughout the state as the number of confirmed cases continues to rise. According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, there are currently 517 confirmed cases in the state. Cleburne and Cherokee Counties have been added to the overall counties with confirmed cases as they each have 1 case. Etowah County now has four confirmed cases and Jefferson County remains as the “hot spot” with 159 cases. More than 4,000 Alabamians have been tested for COVID-19.
