Girl Scouts Appoints First Black CEO

The Girl Scouts of the U.S.A has a new leader. The organization has appointed Judith Batty as the interim CEO.  This is a major milestone for the Girl Scouts as Batty becomes the youth leadership organization’s first black leader. In its early years, the Girl Scouts segregated troops. Batty, a former Exxon-Mobil lawyer is a former Girl Scout. She also served two terms on the national board.
