A search is underway for two inmates who escaped from the St. Clair County correctional facility. Antwone Wilson and Ronald King were discovered missing around 5:15 this morning. King is in jail for burglary and Wilson is in for robbery. Both men were wearing state issued white pants and white t-shirts. A teen is in custody in connection to a murder. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says 19 year old Matthew Gonzalez was involved in a murder at a home in the Salem community on December 2nd. When deputies and investigators got to the home, they found Matthew Smith with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators interviewed Gonzalez at the Paulding County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office, after he was arrested there for a DUI. Sheriff Shaver says Gonzalez will be brought back to Ch
Rainbow City police arrest a foster father with connections to a network of foster homes. The man faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor. Rainbow City Police Chief Jonathon Horton says Donald Kelley turned himself in to the Etowah County Detention Center after he was charged with sodomy. The investigation began in November after the Calhoun County Department of Human Resources filed a report with Rainbow City police.
An Anniston museum opens a new exhibit featuring sculptures from all over the world. The Berman Museum is now displaying Polished Portraits: The Bronzes of Germaine Berman. The museum held the opening on Friday. While serving in World War Two, Berman Museum founder Germaine Berman watched as valuable bronze sculptures and art were melted down for scrap metal by both sides in the war. A single-vehicle crash claims the life of a Fultondale man. Robert Michael was killed when the 18-wheeler he was driving left the roadway on I-20 west. Michael was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened four miles north of Heflin, and the westbound lanes were closed for an hour while crews cleared the debris.

A couple of local Christmas Parade has been rescheduled. The Anniston and Piedmont parades was originally scheduled for tomorrow. Because of potential rain, both parades will now be on Thursday. Piedmont will be at 6:00 pm and Anniston will be 6:30 pm. Oxford will be held as previously scheduled. Make sure to bundle up and get to each respective parade early.
A local library collects donations for families in need. As a community project, the Anniston-Calhoun County Public Library is collecting individually wrapped snacks, underwear, socks, and other essentials for the homeless during the colder months. An Etowah County church shines its lights for the Christmas season. First Baptist Church of Glencoe will flip on the switch this weekend for its 8th annual Christmas Light Show. The church uses smart LED lights, which allows the church to control each bulb and change it to any color or brightness. This years show kicks off at 6:30, Sunday evening.
