A decision has been made to relocate the shelter being operated at the Heflin Baptist Church to the Cleburne County Mountain Center effective 5 p.m. this afternoon (Wednesday, 2/12/14) due to the potential need for shelter emergency backup power.

The shelter is intended to be used for both stranded motorists and those who may be without heat from across the county due to power outages. In addition, if you have questions regarding the shelter or if you need emergency transportation to the shelter, please contact the Emergency Operations Center at 256-463-3831 and ask to speak with the shelter coordinator.

The Mountain Center is located at 6751 Highway 78, Heflin Alabama.

A Red Cross shelter is now open at First Baptist Church in Gadsden. 235 South 5th Street.
